We thought we'd share some frequently asked questions about GatherGreen with you in case you wanted to know more about us and how we do our thing. Do these deals have special rules and restrictions?
Some deals do in fact have special rules, restrictions, or other things you should note before buying. These can be found in the Fine Print section of the deal page. As a supplement to the fine print, you should check out our universal deal rules below. These apply to every deal (unless specifically contradicted in the deal's fine print:

  • Not valid for cash back (unless required by law).
  • Must use in one visit.
  • Doesn't cover tax or gratuity.
  • Can't be combined with other offers.
  • Can't use until day after deal closes.
  • Restaurant deals are valid toward alcohol unless the fine print states otherwise.
  • What happens if my coupon expires?
    When a purchased deal reaches the stated expiration date, it loses its promotional value which is the total amount you would have received in services or products. Not to worry, though: You can still redeem an expired voucher for the price that you paid for it as long as the gift certificate laws in your state require it.
    I’m not sure I want to use the full value of my coupon in one visit. Can I save some for later?
    GatherGreen vouchers are good for one visit only.
    I just purchased a GatherGreen deal and I want to use it now, now, now! Can I?
    It depends. If your GatherGreen deal is not tied to a specific date of use (make sure to check the Fine Print), you are wide open to use your the day after the deal closes. If your voucher is for a restaurant or other location that takes reservations, make sure to plan ahead and give them a call to set up your visit.
    If I give my coupon to a friend, will they be able to use it?
    They sure will, unless the merchant has specifically indicated otherwise. Check the terms displayed on the deal page, and printed on your coupon.
    I have another offer for a deal at the same place. Can I use both at the same time?
    Every once in awhile one of our merchants will let you bring additional discounts, but unless we tell you otherwise, save those other offers at home in the coupon drawer where they belong.
    This GatherGreen deal would make a great gift. Is that cool?
    Yes, you can give your GatherGreen deal to whomever you want. We have a gifting option so you can share the wealth with a special message.
    The GatherGreen deal I purchased is for a restaurant. Can I use it for alcohol?
    As long as you’re 21, yes – unless we tell you that the offer doesn’t include alcohol – in which case you can always use one of our other offers to grab a quick drink either before or after your delicious green dinner.
    Will the GatherGreen deal I purchased include tax and tip?
    Our restaurant deals never include tax and tip. By the way, when you’re tipping, make sure to tip on the full amount of the bill.

    How does GatherGreen work?
    It’s pretty simple, really – when you subscribe to our 'daily green deal' email newsletter, we’ll send you regular opportunities to participate in awesome deals from local and national green businesses. If you choose, you can buy that deal right on our website. We'll then provide you with a voucher that you can use to redeem the deal from the featured green business.
    Does it cost anything to join GatherGreen?
    No way! Signing up for GatherGreen is absolutely FREE. Go ahead and join now.
    I just purchased a GatherGreen deal… Now what?
    After the sale ends we will email you a voucher for you to print and bring to the business to get your deal. You can see when the sale will end by visiting the deal page. If you made a purchase and the sale has ended, and you have not received an email from GatherGreen with the voucher attached, please check your Junk/SPAM email folders. It is possible your voucher is there waiting for you! Or you can log into your GatherGreen account, click on Account, and select PRINT next to the offer that you purchased.
    I bought a deal and received my coupon. When can I use it?
    Each offer is different. Check the terms of your voucher that are displayed on the deal page, and that are also printed on your voucher.
    I bought a deal and received a coupon. How can I use it?
    It's simple! Just print it and show it to the merchant. Don't forget to check the terms printed on your voucher for special restrictions.
    I can’t print my GatherGreen. What’s going on?
    In the rare instance that your GatherGreen deal is not immediately ready for print when the deal is over, we’ll email it to you within an hour or two
    I have a charge on my credit card, but I haven't received a deal voucher? What's going on and what can I do?
    Sometimes the e-mail with the coupon goes into your spam e-mail folder. However, you can login anytime to your GatherGreen account to print out your voucher. All you have to do is go to GatherGreen and login in the upper right hand corner with your e-mail address. From there, you should be able to see your vouchers under My Purchases. There will be an option to print it.
    I'm having problems using or I'm unsatisfied with my deal. What should I do?
    Your happiness is our top priority. That is the reason we are here in the first place! Email us at or call us at 1-800-650-1030 (9-5 PST), and we will assist you right away.
    What's your refund policy?
    GatherGreen wants to guarantee your satisfaction with the promotions we feature and the businesses that we represent. If you had a negative experience with a business that we featured, please let us know. We would be happy to look into your specific situation and see what can be done about it. That said, we will provide a refund of the purchase price paid by you for any deal within thirty days of your purchase of a voucher, provided that the voucher has not yet been redeemed. GatherGreen is unable to offer refunds or exchanges after thirty days of your purchase and you agree not to dispute or otherwise seek a “chargeback” from the company whose credit card you used. In the event that a merchant has closed up shop or gone out of business and you cannot redeem your voucher with them, GatherGreen will grant a refund for the full purchase amount of your voucher.     What can I do if something goes wrong with my purchase?
    We really hope you never have problems with your GatherGreen experience, but we understand that sometimes things beyond our control happen. We're always here to help our members and we can be reached by email us at and by phone at 1-800-650-1030 (9-5 PST).
    What if the business for my GatherGreen closes down?
    If anything happens that makes it impossible for you to redeem your GatherGreen deall, we'll make sure you get full a full refund.
    What will you do with my email address and other personal information?
    Not too much. You'll receive our regular GatherGreen deal offering in your inbox, and occasional alerts relating to your purchases. We take the privacy and security of your personal information very seriously and we share your name with merchants from whom you purchase a deal and select third parties. You can review our complete Privacy Policy if you have further questions.
    I'm not getting your emails or they go to spam. How can I fix this?
    We're doing our best to get in every inbox as we should be in. You should go to our email help page for instructions on how to quickly add us to your address book so our mails will always get through.
    How safe is my credit card information?
    GatherGreen protects your personal information and never stores your credit card information on our servers as it moves straight to a high-security electronic vault via a safe encrypted channel. All of your information is recorded via a Secure Socket Layer connection (SSL) and is fully encrypted. All of your personal information is safe and secure with us and will only be used for your intended purpose.
    Do I get charged as soon as I provide my credit card information?
    Not necessarily. Your credit card will not be charged until the offer ends. We will email you a notification with a proof of purchase when the charge goes through
    When will you be live in my city?
    If you see your city in our 'city selector' then we will have offers for you very soon. We would rather activate a city with a steady stream of quality deals than give you deals that are just okay, so be patient with us as we work to hook you up. If you don't see your city, follow us on Facebook or Twitter and give us a shout-out about where we should go next. We listen to these channels and take your feedback very seriously. Get enough friends on board, and we'll send a team to where you live to get it going!
    How is GatherGreen different from all of the other deal sites?
    Aside from the fact that we do out best to feature only the greenest and most sustainable businesses in your city, we believe that you, the consumer, have enormous power to affect our world. It is our goal to empower you and help you bring your buying habits in-line with your values by helping you connect with local businesses that care about the same things you do.     Does GatherGreen operate as a green and sustainable business itself?
    Yes, GatherGreen is proud to run a carbon balanced business -- all of the carbon emitted by the energy we use is offset by monetary contributions to TerraPass which funds farm power, landfill gas capture, and wind energy projects on our behalf.
    I know a business that would be perfect for GatherGreen. What do I do?
    You can recommend businesses for your city at any time. Email with your business recommendations, or simply tell the business owner about us. If you refer a business, have them mention your name when they talk to us, and we'll send you a nice token of our appreciation if we wind up running a deal with them.
